I know it’s a little gross, but this really is something that everyone should learn how to do.

Yes. I am often a jokester, but the fact that Mountain Lions still roam the suburbs of Phoenix AZ, well I’m not laughing.  Here is a recap of the Gilbert Police departments post on the subject.

Mountain Lion spotted recently near Power and Ocotillo.

Three residents living in the community north of Ocotillo and between Recker and Power reported four sightings of what they believe to be a mountain lion walking through the Trilogy Community in Gilbert.  Sightings occurred between May 31 and June 21.

On May 31 at 6:55 am, the mountain lion was seen in the backyard of a home in the 4100 block of E. Nightingale Ln.  The next sighting was reported on June 3 at 6:16 pm.  This time the mountain lion was seen walking through the neighborhood near East Blue Spruce and South Lombardy.

The most recent reports occurred on June 21.  The mountain lion was seen at 3:22 pm in the back yard of a residence at 4600 E. Blue Spruce.  The mountain lion was later seen at 5:58 pm running toward a green belt across from the area of 4600 E. Blue Spruce.

There are no reports of aggression toward humans or pets.  Gilbert Police responded to the calls, but were unable to locate the animal.

Residents are urged to call 9-1-1 or the Arizona Game and Fish Dept at 480-981-9400 or 800-352-0700 if they observe the animal being aggressive near populated areas.

Residents are also asked to preserve any footprint(s) and immediately contact the Arizona Game and Fish if they spot the animal in the residential areas.

And just to add a quick fact about mountain lions…

They can break break a human femur with one swipe of their mighty claw. OUCH!

…Or so I’ve heard.  So sleep tight and don’t let the mountain lion bite you! … or the bed bugs. (Sorry always a pest control guy.)
